North Raleigh United Church has an active Faith in Action focus. In addition to providing funds for social ministries, we encourage our members and others to involve their energies in the transformation of our society. The Franklinton Centerhttp://www.ucc.org/justice/franklinton.htmFrom a massive farm property (15 miles north of Rocky Mount, NC) where slaves were once afflicted to an institution of social and educational reform, the story of the Franklinton Center at Bricks continues to evolve from a tradition of progressive and positive social change. In May 1987, the Commission for Racial Justice (CRJ) relocated the Southern Regional office from Raleigh to the Franklinton Center. CRJ is a national body of the United Church of Christ (UCC). The Center is used for a variety of purposes, including being the focal point for UCC aid to the victims of hurricane Floyd. Neuse River Foundationhttp://www.neuseriver.orgFounded in 1980 and now composed of 2400 members, the mission of the Neuse River Foundation, Inc. is to be a viable agent for better water quality of the Neuse River through education, investigation, and public involvement.
